ABOUT THE MUSIKTAGE MONDSEE
Dear Music Lovers,
The „Musiktage Mondsee“ were founded in 1989 by Andrasz Schiff. They offer their audience a lovingly selected program with outstanding musicians in the wonderful surroundings of the Salzkammergut. Musical directors of the Musiktage were, besides Andrasz Schiff, Christian Altenburger, Julia Stemberger and Heinrich Schiff, this function today has the Auryn Quartet. Famous names such as Gidon Kremer, Benjamin Schmidt, Shmuel Ashkenazy, Nobuko Imai, Heinrich Schiff, Christian Poltera, Elisabeth Leonskaya, Markus Schirmer, Julian Bliss and many others have played together here. Hardly any other festival can offer such personal intimacy between audience and artist as Mondsee. Here you can feel the joy of playing together and become part of the musical breathing that beshares singular experiences concert after concert.
The Auryn Quartett
The Auryn Quartett, Matthias Lingenfelder, Jens Oppermann, Steward Eaton and Andreas Arndt, playing together for nearly 40 years in this constallation – String Quartett – a musically and personal challenge.
